Shri Prasad Arrangement (Refreshment and Meal)

Food is considered the highest form of the divine. The Upanishads also teach that food should never be disrespected. From the very beginning of His incarnation work, Shri Maharaj demonstrated this eternal truth of “Ann is Brahma” (Food is God) through His own actions such as lovingly collecting and consuming even rice grains from used leaf plates.

Following Shri Maharaj’s teaching of “Annam Brahmeti,” Shri Sansthan has been continuously and traditionally serving Mahaprasad to all visiting devotees. Within the Shri Maharaj Samadhi temple premises, a large and well-planned Mahaprasadalaya has been built. Here, seating arrangements allow up to 5,000 devotees to sit together and partake of Shri Maharaj’s Mahaprasad at one time.

For all devotees visiting for Shri Maharaj’s darshan, the flow of Mahaprasad service continues smoothly and without interruption every day.

Shri Maharaj’s Mahaprasad is distributed free of cost by Shri Sansthan every day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to all devotees. The Mahaprasad includes items such as roti, vegetable curry, pithla, dal-rice, and a sweet dish. On fasting days, special fasting food (faral) is also served. On an average, more than 30,000 to 35,000 devotees avail of Shri Maharaj’s Mahaprasad daily. Across Shri Maharaj’s Samadhi Temple and all branches of Shri Sansthan, more than 50,000 devotees receive Mahaprasad every day.

During the three major occasions—Shri Maharaj’s Prakatdin, Punyatithi celebrations, and Shri Ram Navami—the number of devotees visiting can rise to 3 to 5 lakh or even more. To ensure that all devotees receive Shri Maharaj’s Mahaprasad, special arrangements are made by the Mahaprasad Section.

Every year, more than 50,000 quintals of grains, pulses, groceries, and vegetables are used for Shri Maharaj’s Mahaprasad. For this purpose, a well-equipped, modern Central Kitchen Section operates continuously with advanced systems in place. The Mahaprasad is prepared here while strictly following all hygiene standards.
